Troubleshooting Accu-Power Concord Brake Controller

Question:

I have a accu power concord ias brake controller in my 2006 3/4 ton chevy truck. It has worked great for years. But yesterday when I hooked it up to my trailer all the red lights on the controller were on and the brakes on the trailer will not work. Any ideas what to look for to repair this problem

I have some basic troubleshooting steps you can follow, but unfortunately I was unable to find any specific information about your brake controller to determine what the lights are indicating.

You can test the wires at the back of the brake controller with a circuit tester, # PTW2993, to ensure that they are functioning properly. The black wire should be ran through a circuit breaker and connected to the vehicle's battery, and this wire should have 12V power all the time. The blue wire should connect back to the trailer connector at the rear of the vehicle, and this wire should have power when the manual override is used. The white wire should be grounded to the vehicle battery. The red wire should connect to the vehicle's stoplight switch and have signal when the brake pedal is pressed.

If the wires are not functioning properly coming out of the brake controller, it is likely there is something wrong with the brake controller and it may need to be replaced.

I have attached a help article on troubleshooting brake controller installations for you.

If all of the wires are functioning properly coming out of the brake controller, please let me know and I will be happy to provide further troubleshooting steps for you.
