Troubleshooting 12 Volt Accessory Trailer Wiring Circuit Not Functioning on a 2005 Dodge Ram
Question:
Bought new livestock trailer with led lighting. ALL lights work EXCEPT a white interior light. Dealer says theres a fuse missing on tow vehicle. Ive looked at all fuses under hood and found all to be in place. Is there another place to look for fuses?

On a 2005 Dodge Ram the trailer wiring circuits are "fused" at the TIPM or the totally integrated power module. This can be frustrating to deal with in terms of trailer wiring. When you short out the TIPM you have to take it to a dealer so that they can reset it, and they will only do this so many times before you have to spend a ton of money to replace it.
The best way around the TIPM is to bypass it all together with the trailer wiring. For that you can use the wiring harness part # 119178KIT for a 4-way, and then for converting the 4-way to a 7-way you would want to use part # 37185 for if you don't have a brake controller and part # ETBC7 for if you do.
