Can an Older Utility Trailer Have a Frictions Sway Control Unit Installed on It
Question:
Could , would it be possible to install a small ? Sway bar on my self built dual purpose Utility / camper trailer, I will set up , hitch up the trailer to my lady friends chevy malibu and take photographs, the trailer when empty is 580 lbs, and can safely haul one ton, but never do, maybe haul 700 to 800 lbs, it trails wonderfully, but ? , for 58 yea at s I have built motor. Coaches, motor homes, tow behind, 5th wheel, utility, extreme heavy equipment, dump bodys, etc as a 3rd hobby, now back to my little camper, it uses a 1 7/8ths ball , a 1 1/4inch reciever and ball mount shaft, if this can be done with. Minimal welding, engineering, I might give it a go, In my e mail site I can send the photos, Many Thanks

Sounds like you are talking about a friction sway control unit for your small utility trailer. For that you could use the # 83660 pretty easily.
If you like the ball mount you have you can weld the sway control install tab part # 3442 to the side of it so that you can use it with the sway control or you can use the bracket # RP26005 if you do not want to weld the ball mount.
The # 83660 is setup to bolt to the side of a trailer frame, but if you wanted to weld the plate on there's no reason you couldn't.
