Need More Turning Clearance when Towing 5th Wheel Trailer with 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Short Bed

Question:

I have a 5th wheel with a Atwood ab72 pin box. I need more clearance between trailer and truck cab. I have a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Reese slider in it. I still need more clearance when maneuvering trailer. Any suggestions?

The Atwood AB72 pin box is a telescoping box but there is no Sidewinder pin box that will fit it. So to get additional clearance you will need to use a hitch that has more travel than the Reese hitch you have now.

I recommend the Demco HiJacker, # DM8550034, because it offers 14 inches of travel, more than any Reese slider, and it slides automatically so you won't have to get in and out of the truck to activate the sliding feature. This hitch fits in industry standard above the bed rails. I have linked a video review of this hitch for you.
