Fit of Yakima FatCat EVO 6 on the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack

Question:

I have a 2011 Infiniti G37 Sedan with a naked roof and Im looking for a ski rack setup to leave on my car for the whole winter. I definitely want the Vortex Aero Roof Rack for my car because I like the way it looks more than the Thule rack. I need to add a ski rack to the top of that and I was wondering if the FatCat 6 will be compatible with the bars on the Vortex RS 2500? If not, which ski rack is compatible with the Vortex Aero bars? According to the Rhino-Rack website, the RRVA118B-2 crossbars are 46 inches long. I would like to add a wind fairing to my set up but I dont know If I should go for 32inch or 38inch with the bar being just 38.46. What size will fit? Lastly, Ive heard that the Rhino-Rack fairing rattles so I was wondering if there is another brand fairing that will be compatible with the Vortex RS 2500 bars?

The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero crossbars are 3-1/8 inches wide, and the Yakima FatCat EVO 6 Ski/Snowboard Rack # Y03096 will fit crossbars up to 3-7/16 inches wide. Therefore, the FatCat 6 will fit the Vortex Aero crossbars perfectly.

The roof rack you mentioned would be constructed using the following parts:

Rhino Rack 46 inch crossbar #RRVA118B-2
Rhino Rack Roof Rack Feet, part # RRRLKVA
Vehicle Specific Clamp Kit # DK211

I'd recommend the 38 inch fairing, part # RRRF2. I've looked though our customer reviews for the different length fairings, and haven't seen any reference to rattling or looseness of the fairing. Thule and Yakima offer fairings, but none of those models would be compatible with the Vortex Aero crossbars you were interested in.
