Should Both Trailer Slide-Out Gearpacks Be Replaced on 2006 Cedar Creek Silverback

Question:

2006 Cedar Creek Silverback. Our slide started making a popping noise and moving crooked. Upon further investigation I found one of the gear packs to be missing a few teeth. Should I replace both gear packs at the same time? Also, is there anything else I should consider replacing? Thanks in advance for your time.

If one of your trailer slide's gearpack needs replacement due to damaged/missing gear teeth I do recommended replacing both. There is a chance that the alignment issue from the missing teeth on the one gearpack could have damaged or at least stressed the other one. Since you're going to have it apart anyway I'd spare myself the potential need to go back into it and just replace both gearpacks at the same time.

Kit # LC140409 is for slide systems utilizing 2 x 3 and 3 x 3 tubing slide arms. If you have a 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 slide the instead use part # LC123356. For a 2 x 2 slide use part # LC281331.
