Should Tire Chains be Put on All 4 Wheels of a 2008 Dodge Ram 4x4

Question:

I have a 4x4 Dodge Ram. I am interested in buying snow chains. However, I dont know the ideal set up. When in 2wd is it front or back, and when in 4wd mode is it the same?

Tire chains for your 2008 Dodge Ram will need to go on the main drive wheels which on a truck is going to be the rear wheels regardless of whether you are in 2-wheel drive mode or 4-wheel drive mode.

You can put chains on the front tires as well in 2- or 4-wheel drive and it will help with even great traction, especially when turning, as well as braking. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for specific information on the use of tire chains. I have included a link to our tire chain help article for you as well.

If you can tell me the tire size on your Ram I can make some recommendations. It looks like the stock options were mostly 17 inch options with one 20 inch exception. I have linked the tire chain main page for you truck.
