Will Transmission Cooler Block AirFlow On 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Question:

I am planning to install a Derale 13502 transmission cooler on my 2012 Chevy Traverse. My question is whether or not there is any concern adding the additional flow restriction since the cooler will be installed in series with the radiator? I have no information on the flow through the transmission cooler lines nor the pressure across the auxiliary cooler. Thanks for any help on this subject.

The location you mount a transmission cooler on your Traverse is important for the best airflow and function of the cooler.

I have attached a helpful article about transmission coolers you can check out. In the help article you can see the diagram that shows the best locations for a cooler. The best location is between the vehicle grille and AC condenser core to achieve the greatest cooling efficiency.

The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler, part # D13502 is a Class lll cooler and measures 11 inches wide x 7-1/4 inches tall and 7/8 inches deep.
