Replacement Hitch Install Hardware for a Curt Hitch on a 1995 Subaru Legacy
Question:
Hello, and thanks for your site! I recently purchased a Curt hitch from a lady who had it on her 95 Subaru Legacy Outback and am going to install it on my 95 SLO. Ive printed the installation instructions and have just a couple questions. On the frame, drivers side where the 1/2 inch hole is, I found a smooth brass plug? sitting less than 1/16inch inside the hole. Am I supposed to drill out or knock out that brass plug? The other side is already drilled out with a plastic plug covering the 1/2inch hole. I also need a little reach tool to hold the nut inside the frame...do you sell just the inside the frame nuts and the tool to hold them?

It sounds like there may have been a hitch installed in your 1995 Subaru Legacy at one point since you said there already is a 1/2 inch hole in the frame. As long as the brass plug you found is just a plug then you would want to have it removed so that you can install the hitch.
To get all new hardware for the part # C12270 which has been confirmed to fit your 1995 Subaru Legacy you will need the part # RHK. On its product page you will need to enter the part number and we will ship you out new hardware.
Hitch install hardware is considered one time use. So even if you have the hardware that was previously used you would need to replace it.
