Tekonsha Brake Controller Not Working when Using the Brake Pedal
Question:
I have tekonsha prodigy 2 or 3, not sure, seems to be hooked up right to the trailer plug, when I move the lever on the prodigy to the left the brakes lock up but when i apply the brake pedal nothing happens, it does not show any numbers on the display except when i move the lever to the left, not when i apply the brakes, any ideas what is wrong

If your brake controller is hardwired into the truck, then the connection on the red wire may need to be re-established. It needs to attach to the brake switch wire that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed.
If you test that red wire with a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 and there is no power on it when the brake pedal is pressed, then it is either attach to the wrong brake switch wire or the stop light or CHMSL fuse is blown and will need to be replaced.
Also, make sure the controller is not tilted or turned to one side because that can cause problems as well.
