Brake Controller Install Kit and Hitch Recommendation for 2005 Dodge Durango

Question:

Hi eTrailer. I have a 2005 Dodge Durango with no factory hitch gear at all. I want to set up this truck to be able to tow both a 4 pin wired trailer, and I also have 2 electric brake trailers I already have a brake controller in another truck that I can install that I want to tow 7 pin. Although I am an electrical engineer, I prefer to not do any splicing of factory wiring and I think your Tinch harnesses kits just ues the factory plug sockets. Can you recommend the proper hardware set for my truck? I have seen your Curt hitch install videos and that hitch looks like what I need. Thanks

For trailer wiring you would need to first start with the 4-way part # 118390 that will plug inline with the vehicle taillight connectors like you mentioned.

To convert the 4-way to a 7-way will require the part # ETBC7 that comes with everything needed to make the conversion and install the brake controller. I attached an install video an instructions for you to check out as well.

For a hitch the Curt part # 13072 would be a great option as well.
