Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2000 Dodge B1500 Van with a 4-Way Flat Connector
Question:
Okay I have a 4-flat wire connect on my Dodge B1500 and a 4-7 blade connection on the used trailer I recently purchased? Any ideas here?

So if I understand correctly, the trailer has a 7-Way blade style connector and your 2000 Dodge Van has a 4-Way flat connector. To install a mating 7-Way on your van I recommend # ETBC7. This kit provides the 7-Way and retains the 4-Way as well and comes with the wiring and accessories needed to install a brake controller.
If you only want the lights to function then you will just plug in the 4-Way to the adapter included in ETBC7 and ground the white wire to the van frame. But if you want a 12 volt circuit, reverse light function, and electric brake output you will need to complete the full installation. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation.
For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up, use, and it is reliable.
