Recommended Cargo Boxes For 2014 Subaru Outback and 2006 Toyota 4Runner

hi- We have a 2014 Subaru Outback, and 2006 Toyota 4Runner Ltd. Both have factory installed cross bars. Im looking for a roof top cargo box that will fit both cars- what would you recommend? thanks!

The best way to determine which cargo box will fit both of your vehicles and not interfere with the open hatch is to take a quick measurement. You will want to make sure the front crossbar is as far forward as possible and then measure from the center of the front crossbar to the seam that separates the roof of your vehicle and the rear hatch. That measurement is called "front clearance".

If you find you have 47 inches front clearance I recommend the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box, part # Y95AV.

The Thule cargo box I recommend is the Force XT Cargo Box, part # TH6357B. This is also a 16 cubic ft box and it has a front clearance requirement of 47-1/2 inches.
