Fit of Tow Ready T-One Connector # 118315 on 1989 Chevy K1500 w/ Custom Bumper
Question:
Am currently looking into purchasing a wiring harness such as Tow Ready 118315 T-One Connector Assembly for my 1989 Chevy K1500 I know it says fits all but I have a custom bumper on the truck which already has an adapter in it 3 connections to run cord that plugs the tail lights into it, as well as the rear license plate lights when installing do I remove the harness that goes to the tail light from this 3 way adapter and plug your harness into the 3 way then plug in the tail light to your product? or will I actually have to splice and cut into wires?

Expert Reply:
The Tow Ready # 118315 is designed to fit a 1989 Chevy K1500 with a stock bumper. The lamps on your bumper should plug into the factory wiring harness on the driver's side frame rail. The # 118315 will plug inline at that connection as long as it hasn't been altered. If your connector looks like what's shown in the photo and video I've linked for you, the # 118315 should fit without cutting or splicing.
