Brake Controller Not Working with Brake Pedal on a 2015 Ram 1500

Question:

My 2015 ram 1500 does not activate the brake controller from the brake pedal but works fine in manual mode. Do I need a jumper from brake light signal to brake controller? Thanks

You will need to make sure that you are using the correct brake controller wiring harness for your 2015 Ram 1500. For a Tekonsha brake controller such as the P3, # 90195, you should be using harness # 3024-P.

If this is the harness you have then it is possible that there is a blown stop light or CHMSL fuse that will need to be replaced. The harness red wire is the one that tells the brake controller you are stepping on the brake pedal so an additional connection is not needed.
