How to Transport a Canoe/Kayak Longer than 16 Feet with Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer

Question:

I have a 14foot and 16.5foot canoe that Id like to haul by Yakima Rack-and-Roll trailer with 66inch crossbar. Their beams are 30inch and 34inch at their widest, but because of their design the rails are narrow, making the total width likely to be easily within the rail ends. Is length a problem? Is width a problem? I understand when carrying two crafts 16foot is the specified max, but with some creative load balancing Im wondering if the extra 6inch is really a problem.

To carry boats longer than 16 feet with the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # Y08106 all you need is the tongue extension part # Y08109 which allows you to carry (1) 22' or (2) 21' boats.

The combined width of your two canoes is 1 inch wider than the crossbars of the Y08106. They should still fit and work just fine.
