Recommended Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Kia Sorento
Question:
I am going to purchase a hitch/wiring kit for a 2013 Kia Sorento V6 SE. How do I know if my car has the the tow-prep package on in already? Thank you

Exactly what is included on a vehicle that has a "tow package" can vary considerably from one auto maker to another, and also from model to model and year to year. If necessary your local Kia dealership can look up your VIN to find out all of the equipment that was installed on your specific car at the factory.
For wiring, if you do NOT have the tow package you can use Curt kit # C59236 or if you DO have the tow package instead use # C56332. Videos for both harnesses are linked for you to illustrate the installation processes. The video for part # C56151 shows you where the tow package wiring connectors will be if they are present; please refer to the 0:14-second mark.
Kia offered the 2013 Sorento in several versions, the LX, EX, SX and SX Limited, but I was not able to find any information pertaining to an "SE" version. Fortunately the same Curt hitch, their 2-inch Class III # C13073, fits all versions! This hitch bolts on with included hardware and requires no drilling; it just may need some trimming of the heat shield and rear fascia. An installation video is linked for you.
The recommended ball mount is part # C45030 but if you need a ball mount with different rise/drop to keep your trailer level (important for good handling) then instead you can refer to the linked article that explains how to select a suitable ball mount. For a 2-inch hitch ball use # 63845.
I also linked an article with general towing tips.
