Brake Controller Recommendations for Allegro Red Motorhome
Question:
Looking for a Electric Brake Controller Proportional I think to put onto my Freightliner Chasis on my Allegro Red 3AA Motorhome. It is a diesel w/air brakes. I have a tow dolly w/electric brakes. What item do I need?

A proportional controller is an excellent choice for safe, predictable braking.
If you've never used a controller before, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195. The display and controls are very user-friendly and the controller is very highly rated by our customers. The Prodigy P2, part # 90885 is also a good option, still highly rated and easy to use, but the display isn't quite as user friendly as the P3. Any faults in the trailer brake system are displayed as error codes, instead of being plainly spelled out like the P3 does.
To install the controller, you'll also need the # ETBC7 install kit. The kit includes an adapter that converts an existing 4-pole into a 7-way connector, so if your Motorhome doesn't already have a 4-pole, you'd need to install one using part # 119250KIT. Due to the longer length of a Motorhome, you'll need an extra length of the cable which is sold by the foot as part # 10-1-1. If you order a length equal to the length of your Motorhome, you should have plenty of wire.
I'll link you to the installation instructions for the install kit.
