Trailer Hitch and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Question:
Im interested in this hitch, 13530 for my hybrid 2007 highlander hybrid w/tow package because it is the most popular hitch for my car. But as it blocks the spare tire by 1-2inch Im just curious if that inhibits the spare tire from being removed if needed? I figure it must work considering the positive reviews of this hitch but I wanted to make sure before purchasing. Also, what wiring would you recommend to purchase additionally? And if I want to add a brake controller, which product do you also recommend? Thanks.

You might need to angle the spare a bit as you go to try and raise or lower it from your 2007 Toyota Highlander after you install the Curt Hitch part # 13530, but it will still be accessible.
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118248.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
