Recommended Trailer Hitch That Does Not Require Stabilizing Strap For 2015 Ford Edge SEL

Question:

I have just purchased a 2015 Ford Edge SEL and I need a hitch for my bike rack. I noticed that Curt hitches require a support strap to be used when using a bike rack with the hitch. Is the support strap required with all the hitches or just the Curt brand? Also when installing the hitches does the bumper have to be cut? Which one would you recommend that I purchase? Thanks!

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2015 Edge SEL is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch, part # 75234. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. The 75234 does not require a stabilizing strap like Curt.

The bumper does not need to be cut for installation but you will need to lower the exhaust. Per the attached installation instructions the appearance panel under the back of the vehicle will need to be removed, trimmed and then re-installed.
