Will the Thule Transporter Hitch Mount Cargo Box Clear Spare Tire on 2009 Toyota RAV4

Hi, I am driving a 2009 RAV4 with the rear mounted spare tire. Is it possible to install the box? I dont need to have access to the trunk - I just need the additional space to transport stuff!

To determine if the Thule Transporter cargo box # TH665C will clear the spare tire on your 2009 Toyota RAV4 there is one measurement that is needed. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance needed to clear the spare tire. If that distance is less than 12 inches the box will clear the spare.
Based on some of the hitches we have installed on RAV4s like yours it appears that the spare tire is out around 6-1/4 inches so there should be plenty of space. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle prior to loading. The weight of the carrier will also count against the tongue weight.
