Why Would Integrated Brake Controller Not Apply Hard Brakes w Pedal When Trailer is On Jack Stand
Question:
2013 Chevy Silverado 2500hd I have a factory brake controller. I just installed the never adjust brakes. When I have trailer on jack stands and spin the tires then hit the brakes I hold it for a good 3-5 seconds then it catches with brake controller on highest setting. When I use the hand controller it stopsimmediately . Where should I go from here?

Expert Reply:
The brake controller in 2013 Chevy Silverado is a proportional brake controller so it would have to sense your vehicle slowing down via inertia for the controller to apply hard braking with the brake pedal. That is why it will function just fine with the override lever but not with the brake pedal.
