Troubleshooting Brake Controller with Factory Wiring that Stoplight Circuit Stopped Functioning

Question:

I have no power to the red wire that goes to my eletric brake controller, it was working then it stopped. I have the factory wire harness for the eletric brake controller and if u push the button on the brake controller it would make my brake lights come on and apply trailer brakes as well, now the brake lights dont come on but the trailer brakes still do only if u push the brake controller button, when I push the brake pedal I have brake lights but nothing to the brake controller. All fuses are good is there a relay or in line fuse/diode that I am missing? Is it possible there is someting grounded out.

I know you said your fuses are good, but what you described sounds like a blown CHMSL fuse. CHMSL is the third brake light circuit of your 2002 Chevy Avalanche. This would be the same circuit that your brake controller red wire would attach to. Have a buddy check to see if the third brake light comes on when you apply the brakes of your truck.
