If your 2013 Mazda CX-9 has a trailer hitch with a 2 inch x 2 inch receiver, like the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 75531, the MaxxTow Ball Mount with 2 Inch Accessory Receiver # MT70066 will likely work well for you. Both Class II and Class III trailer hitches are offered for your CX-9, and Class II trailer hitches have 1-1/4 inch receivers.
Besides making sure you have a 2 inch hitch receiver, you will want to measure the clearance needed at your bumper to ensure that the accessory receiver will clear your bumper. The easiest way to measure the clearance needed is to use a dowel rod or a yard stick. You can hold the yard stick at the most rear part of your bumper, and measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the yard stick. I have attached a help article that talks about measuring clearance. The MaxxTow # MT70066 ball mount measures 4-7/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the accessory receiver.
The accessory receiver on the ball mount is also a 2 inch receiver. I recommend double checking to make sure your bike rack fits a 2 inch receiver to ensure that this will work for your bike rack.
You will also want to make sure that the ball mount has the correct drop in order for you to tow your trailer level. The MaxxTow # MT70066 has a 1-5/8 inch drop. I have attached a help article on knowing what rise or drop ball mount to use for you.
I have attached a review video of this ball mount on a Kia Sportage for you.
