Will Slip-On Towing Mirrors Scratch the Paint on 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Factory Mirror
Question:
My 2500 is a little fancy, and the mirrors are painted. Will either the cipa or longview slip on mirrors scratch them?

Although the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors, # CM10950, and the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors, # LVT-1800, are very popular with our customers and scratching paint is not a common complaint, any time that you slide something across paint you do run the risk of a scratch. To considerably reduce the risk of scratches I recommend that you make sure that the towing mirror and factory mirror are clean and free of any debris. A good coat of wax on the painted surface of your mirrors will also help.
These towing mirrors are designed to fit both the electric and manual black plastic mirrors. Since you mention that yours are painted, you will want to compare the shape of your mirrors to the one in the photo that I have attached to ensure that they will work for you.
Another option that you may want to consider is a clip on style mirror like the K-Source Universal Towing Mirror, # KS3891. These will fit most mirrors 4-1/2 inches to 11-1/2 inches tall and use a ratcheting strap system to create a snug fit.
