Adapter to Convert 6-way Round to 7-Way Blade Trailer Connector Part # 47435

Question:

I have a trailer with a 7-way round flat connector and just bought a truck that has a 6-way round vehicle connector end. Is the only way to connect the two replacing the 6-way vehicle end with a 7-way round flat vehicle end? Or, is there some sort of coverter that will allow the two to merge and still be functional?

If you are going to exclusively tow this trailer, you might be better off replacing your current 6-way with a 7-way connector like part # HM48480.
