Can a 4.80-12 Trailer Tire Replace a 4.80-8
Question:
My utility trailer currently has 4.80/4.00-8 tires. Can these be replaced with 4.80-12 tires?

Expert Reply:
The 4.80-12 trailer tire size is designed to fit a 12 inch rim and you have 8 inch rims currently so you would have to replace the rims and tires at the same time assuming you have the fender clearance.
If you have a 4 bolt pattern you would want the part # AM30620, if you have a 5 bolt pattern you would want the part # AM30660.
The tires will be overall about 4-1/2 inches taller than what you currently have.
