Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2011 Volvo XC60

Question:

After reading many reveiws, I am concerned about a loud vibration noise with the hitch and exhaust touching. Do any of the suggested hitches eliminate this problem?

Exhaust/hitch rattle can occur on any vehicle. It is because the exhaust is never quite in the same place on any two vehicles. But if you happen to have this issue on your 2011 Volvo XC60 then there are some things you can do to correct the problem. I have included a link to a help article on this very issue.

All of the trailer hitches for your Volvo have the same design and install in the same places so there isn't one that is less likely to have an issue than any of the others.

If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And for trailer wiring you can use # 118739.
