A key component to choosing the correct weight distribution system is knowing the trailer's exact tongue weight. Tongue weight is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The ideal situation is to have the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Since you already know that the tongue weight of your trailer is 1200 lbs, I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control, # RP66130. This system is going to accommodate tongue weights of 800 to 1,500 lbs and featuring dual-cam sway control to stop trailer sway before it begins. I have included a short video review for you.

To complete the set-up you will also need Weight Distribution Shank, # RP54970, and Hitch Ball, # C40086 for 2-5/16 inch or # A-90 for 2 inch.

Just a reminder, you will want to ensure that you aren't exceeding the weight limitations of any component in your towing setup. This would include your F-150, the hitch, and the weight distribution system.
