Availability of 5-pole Flat Trailer Connector for 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser
Question:
Hi, Im looking for a wiring Harness for a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. I have a Trailer with surge brakes and a 5 Pole connector. I see you have a 4 pole harness available for this particular vehicle but it would require a 4-5 pin adapter. Can I get a 5 pole harness and avoid the adapter for this vehicle? Thanks for your help.

Although it's not a plug and play option, there is a hardwired option available, part # 119177KIT. This is a universal application, the inputs would wire into the right turn, left turn, brake, running light and reverse light circuit. The converter would ground to the vehicle frame and would be powered by its fused connection to the vehicle battery. The wiring harness includes a basic circuit tester, so you can probe the taillight wiring harnesses feeding the taillight assemblies to determine which wire carries which circuit. Once you've identified the circuits, the included quick splice connectors would allow you to easily splice each input from the converter into the correct vehicle lighting circuits.
I can understand not wanting to use an adapter. The # 119177KIT would provide a much more reliable connection.
I've linked you to some FAQ articles that you might find helpful. I've also linked you to the instructions for the # 119177KIT wiring harness.
