After Installing Brake Pedal Monitoring Wire Cruise Control Will Not Work on 2014 Honda CR-V
Question:
Break light switch hook up. after hooking my line to cold side of break light switch I began having trouble with the cruise control not setting. Dealer stated it was because the computer was indicating that the breaks were on. I personally dont think so. In the towed vehicle I did not use the patch cord, line goes from the front socket only. No light switch was installed as I installed a bulb and socket kit. only the monitor line was attached to the break light cold wire. Any help would be much appreciated. OH I have yet to hook up both vehicles together before this problem is resolved. Thank you

It sounds like you are potentially connected to the wrong brake switch wire on your 2014 Honda CR-V. There is likely more than one wire that will have power when you step on the brake pedal. The wire you are looking for is most likely blue, but you will still want to test using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 if you need one.
The wire should only have power when the brake pedal is pressed and not when the headlights or turn signals are on.
The connection to the proper brake switch wire should not have any effect on the cruise control unless something was applying power to that wire (back feeding). If it is back feeding to the brake switch then install a diode, # RM-690, would prevent back feed.
