You will want to match up your four new brake assemblies to the existing ones to ensure they will mount properly to your brake flanges, fit your hubs and provide the correct stopping power.
Its easiest to do this by pulling one of your hubs and measuring the diameter and width of one of your current brakes. Ideally you will also be able to find on the axles a sticker or plate that indicates the axle capacity so that your new brakes will have a capacity equal to or greater than required for the load they carry.
The electric drum brake you referenced, Dexter 12 x 2-inch # 23-181 for axles up to a 7K rating, is a right-hand brake that works with matching left-hand brake # 23-180. You need to match brake size, mounting hole pattern and axle capacity to ensure the replacements will fit and work properly for you.
You can click on the included link to see our main page for trailer brake assemblies. At the top of the page click on the type you need, electric drum brakes, and then select your two axles' capacity. For example, if the axles are rated for 6000-lbs and your existing brakes are 12 x 2-inches in size and use a 5-hole mount you can use self-adjusting right-hand brake # 23-459 and left-hand # 23-458. If your brake flanges happen to be a 4-hole pattern then instead you could use Dexter # 23-106-09 and # 23-105-09.
Electric brakes are not polarized, meaning that you can wire either of the two pigtail leads as ground or hot. Grounds must be securely fastened to a clean bare metal spot on the trailer frame to ensure good performance.
If you happen to need a brake controller I recommend the outstanding Prodigy P2 # 90885. This advanced unit works with both electric and electric-over-hydraulic brakes and includes great features like automatic leveling, built-in diagnostics for troubleshooting and a 360-degree vertical mounting range. The linked video illustrates.
