No Power on Curt Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2007 to 2012 Mazda CX-7
Question:
The Curt wiring harness will not function. Checking for voltage on the fused red wire on the Curt harness, there is no voltage. It appears that Mazda didnt hook up the battery wire. Anyway, I stumped without a wiring diagram. Have you ever heard of this problem on the CX-7?

Expert Reply:
Trailer wiring harnesses # C55593 for the Mazda CX-7 will only fit if the vehicle came with the factory tow package. It sounds like your model did not. What you will need to add trailer wiring is a different type of harness, # 118405.
It is possible that even if you ran a power wire to the battery manually and bypassed that connector it might still not work. going with harness # 118405 would be the sure thing.
