A key component to choosing the correct weight distribution system is knowing the trailer's exact tongue weight. Tongue weight is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. The ideal situation is to have the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use. I have included a couple of articles that are packed with information for you.

The Strait-Line Weight Distribution System is a customer favorite because it is easy to use and it offers dual-cam sway control. The cams lock into position to hold the trailer steady which means sway is stopped before it can even begin. Since there is a good chance that the tongue weight of your trailer will fall somewhere close to 400 lbs, you could go with part # RP66082. This system is designed for tongue weights ranging from 200 - 600 lbs and includes everything that you will need except for a hitch ball, # A-90 for 2 inch or # A-6 for 2-5/16 inch.

If you are looking for a system that is a bit more economical, take a look at the Pro Series Weight Distribution System, # PS49901, which is designed for tongue weights up to 550 lbs. This system offers friction sway control which will reduce sway caused by winds, curving roads, and sudden maneuvers. Everything that you need is included, even a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball.

Just a reminder, you will want to ensure that you aren't exceeding the weight limitations of any component in your towing setup. This would include the Nitro, the hitch, and the weight distribution system.
