Recommended Weight Distribution System For Airstream 23D With 720 LB Dry Tongue Weight
Question:
I am looking at buying this product - BXW1000 I have purchased an airstream 23d with a tongue weight of 720 pounds without any additional load, is this the correct spring bar? Should I be looking at a different product? I will be towing this with a Ford F150 Ecoboost with a tow package. Let me know if you have any questions.

The best way to choose the correct weight distribution system is to select one where your tongue weight falls in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system.
To get the tongue weight you need to find the tongue weight of the trailer when it is loaded and ready to go. That would include water, food, or anything else you plan on carrying in or on the trailer. You then add the weight of any cargo you place behind the rear axle of your towing vehicle. This is the best way to calculate how big of a weight distribution system you need.
Since the dry tongue weight for your Airstream is 720 lbs part # BXW1000 with a tongue weight capacity between 750 and 1000 lbs may actually be a bit smaller than you want.
I recommend going with a system like the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, part # RP66084. This system is designed for a tongue weight between 600 and 1,200 lbs, and a gross towing weight of 12,000 lbs.
The system also features dual-cam sway-control which stops trailer sway before it starts and helps when facing high winds and large passing trucks.
The system requires a hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank. For a 2 inch ball I recommend part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19286.
