Replacement Trailer Tires Size ST175/80D13

Question:

I have a Wesco trailer for my 20 ft pontoon by Sweetwater. The tire size is ST175/80D13 Trail America II. In 3 years I have warned out 2 sets of tires . I am 5 miles from the lake we go to plus we go to a lake about 45 miles away 3 times each summer. I am not sure if theses are 6 ply or radials they dont say. My question would be what size tires and kind radial or 6 ply would I get the best performance and mileage?

Since you are very close to the 2 lakes you visit you could go with bias ply tires over radials and not really have to worry about anything. The only difference between the 2 styles is that a radial tire has the belts going straight across the tire width wise whereas a bias ply tire will have the belts running at an angle front to back.

For some 175/80-13 tires we have some options depending on the capacity needed. Tire # AM1ST77 is an ST175/80D13 tire just like what you have now. To get the most life out of your tires make sure they are covered when not in use, they are not overloaded, and they are filled to the maximum psi indicated on the tire.

For covers you could use # CAM45321 for 24 to 26 inch tall tires.
