Should a Friction Sway Control Bar Be Installed on the Right or the Left Side of a Trailer
Question:
I have looked and looked for help on whether one should use a right hand sway bar or a left hand on a small trailer. Everything I find is just more confusing.

You can use a friction sway control bar such as # 83660 on the left or the right side of the trailer. It doesn't matter. As they come they are set up for the right side of the trailer. But they can be used on either side.
For this style of sway control a single bar can be used for trailers up to 6,000 pounds. If the trailer weighs over 6,000 pounds or if it is more than 25 feet long you would need to use 2.
