Should Hitch Height of Fifth Wheel Trailer be Adjusted When Installed in Taller Truck

Question:

I had a 2010 ram 2500 4x4 installed reese fifth wheel hitch 15k . Now I got a 2015 ram 2500 4x4 with oem mount in bed . I installed reese fram in bed I read that the fram adds 2inches higher. I know this truck is a lot higher . Looking at my hitch and trailer there is one more hole on trailer and one more on truck hitch to lower trailer what should I do. Thanks

I would recommend lowering the head of your fifth wheel hitch as far as it can go first to see if that setting will allow your trailer to be towed level, and if that doesn't work raise the pin box up in the mounting brackets so that it would lower the nose of your trailer.

As long as your trailer is being towed level and there is 4-6 inches between the overhang of the trailer and the bedrails of the truck you should be good.
