Difficulty of Installation of Trailer Wiring Options for 2012 Honda Pilot

Does the trailer wiring harness for a 2012 Honda Pilot which you sell simply plug into a factory plugin under the back bumper? Thanks.

The 4 way wiring harness for a 2012 Honda Pilot that did not come with a factory tow package (that would have included a trailer connector) is # 118558. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. this will provide you with the basic light functions used on a trailer: left and right turn signals, brake lights, and running lights.

No cutting, splicing or taping is required, however there are actually a few connection points required for trailer wiring harness # 118558. There is one behind the bumper in the location you have described, but the other connections are inside the cargo area of the vehicle. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.

If you want to tow something with a 7 way connector you will want to install the # ETBC7 kit. I have included an installation video of this harness on a Honda Pilot for you to check out.

Part # 118265 will fit models that did not come with a factory installed 7-way. You will need to check to make sure the plugs are present behind the bumper and in the cargo area. Almost all Pilots came with the factory plugs.
