Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2012 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
Will this fit 2012 Chet equinox

Expert Reply:
We have several Class II and Class III trailer hitches that are confirmed fits for your 2012 Chevy Equinox, but the Class I hitch you referenced, is not a fit.
The closest hitch to the one you referenced is the Draw-Tite Class II trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver # 36408. The hitch includes the ball mount and pin and clip.
The wiring harness for your Equinox would be the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118494. If you have the towing package you will want # 118264.
For a hitch ball you will need to choose the correct ball size to fit the size of the coupler on your trailer. For the 1-7/8 inch size coupler you will need the Tow Ready 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball, part # 19256. If you have the 2 inch size coupler you will need the Tow Ready 2 inch Hitch Ball, part # 19258.
These parts will give you everything you will need to tow a trailer. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will talk about the parts that are needed to tow a trailer.
