How to Install Third Crossbar for 12 ft Long Paddleboard on Front Roof of 2014 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I have a 2014 Toyota Sienna and I wanted to install a cross bar forward to the existing factory-installed side rails. This will traverse across the 2 front doors. I was hoping to find the correct foot kit for this roof using the Thule Traverse Foot pack 1 pair. I wanted to attach my 12 ft. long paddle board and needed the forward crossbar to support the board so that I can still open the lift gate without bumping into the paddle board.

I do have a single crossbar option that would work for you, the Darby Turbo-Rack, part # DTA968. This crossbar mounts with a strap that would run through the vehicle along the ceiling. If you click the provided link, you can see how the crossbar works.
Another option is the SeaSucker Monkey Bars # 298-SX6000B. You'll need to purchase two crossbars since they aren't sold individually but it'll still work for you. The Monkey Bars attach with vaccum cups so you can pretty much put them anywhere. I've linked a couple videos for you. Once isn't of the Monkey Bars but it's of a different SeaSucker product to show off just how strong the vacuum cups are. Because you are using for paddleboards, you may want to consider the specific SeaSucker Board Carrier - Vacuum Cup Mounted - 2 Surfboards or Paddleboards # 298-BX1806.
All models of the 2014 Sienna came from the factory with the side roof rails that run from front to back along the sides of your roof. This means that none of the roof rack manufacturers ever needed to develop a naked roof fit for your vehicle, which is why there isn't a Thule Traverse crossbar option available.
