The wiring on a trailer connector is too small to charge a battery on your trailer. It can only maintain the charge level of the battery. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to make sure the pin in the 1:00 position when looking at the connector 7-way trailer connector has current.
You will then need to make sure the correct pin on the trailer connector is going to battery via a 10-gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 on the trailer. This would provide a maintenance charge to the trailer battery.
For charging the trailer battery I recommend the NOCO Genius Mini # 329-GENIUS5. This is a muti-stage charger that charges batteries 2 times faster than traditional chargers without overcharging.
