Recommended Trailer Hitch And Trailer Wiring Connector For 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that I want to put a hitch on. I like the look of the Draw-Tite #75699 but I am having a hard time telling exactly what I will need in the way of wiring. The wiring that you list say with factory tow packageinch You also say that a converter is required unless my Jeep has a tow package plug. How can I tell if mine has a tow package and plug and do you have converters for sale that will give me what I need if not? My Jeep is a standard Laredo model with out a factor tow hitch/package but do you know if they supply the harness just tucked in someware? The MOPAR description for their hitch receiver also mentions that the dealer must use their scan tool to add hitch sales code to activate trailer wiring. Are you familiar with the need to have this done? Thanks, very much,

The Draw-Tite, part # 75699 is a great hitch for your 2015 Grand Cherokee if it is not the SR-T model or a diesel. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation of this hitch you can check out.
All Grand Cherokees come with the factory tow package installed. I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C55774. This will plug into the existing plug that can be found behind the bumper and will give you a 4-way and 7-way connector at the back of your Grand Cherokee.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
You will have to take the vehicle to the dealer and have them turn the tow package on.
