Can Factory Trailer Wiring Harness on 2015 Porsche Macan Deliver 40-Amps Current for Chair Lift

Will this connector enable the 2015 Porsche Macan S factory-installed trailer hitch wiring harness to power a 40 AMP motor for a Tri Lift scooter lift or do I need to install a heavy duty hot lead directly to the battery?

Since we do not sell the OEM wiring harness that was factory installed in your 2015 Porsche Macan you can determine its amperage capacity by checking with your dealership or by seeing what value fuse is associated with it. It is NOT likely that the wiring harness can deliver 40-amps especially if the vehicle uses low-power-demand LED lighting.

You'll also want to confirm the actual power draw from the lift's motor; is the 40-amps continuous or peak current draw? Tri-Lift offers several versions with varying capacities that could affect actual power draw.

If the lift draws no more than 40-amps peak then you could use a 40-amp breaker # 9510 along with enough wire, part # 10-2-1 sold by the foot, to reach your lift's wiring.

I also suggest you use a battery charger like the CTEK # CTEK56353 to maintain your Macan's battery when you have available AC power.
