How Much Turning Clearance Is Lost When Installing Gooseneck Versus Bumper Hitch
Question:
I have a 2000 Ford F250 Super Cab with 6.5foot bed. I am considering switching to a gooseneck equipment trailer vs my current bumper setup. How much will I lose on turning radius with the short bed? I assume it will still be better than my bumper setup, correct? Is the BandW the best choice for this truck?

When you change over to a gooseneck trailer from the bumper mount trailer setup, you may lose clearance but it would be impossible for me to tell you how much because of the different style trailer available. If you have a trailer with an open flat bed you may actually gain more clearance.
Per the installation instructions for the B and W Gooseneck, part # BWGNRK1108, the hitch ball is placed 47 inches from the rear edge of the tailgate. You would need to know the length of the gooseneck pin box, and if it is a flat end on the trailer or if it is an A-frame style.
The installation instructions are attached you can take a look at.
