7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2009 Honda Pilot

Question:

I have a 2009 honda pilot and need to install a trailer brake system I need the controller and the wiring on the back bumper, I am looking for a traditional 7 pin. I uave watched some videos that have been produced by you and you have instal for a 2012 honda pilot but the plugs under the dash look very different, on my 2009 the plug only has 2 wires and in you video it has 4. I may be over thinking everything but please let me know what I need to purchase from the controler all the way back to the rear connection point for the trailer

To install a 7-way on your 2009 Honda Pilot all you need is the part # 118253. It will install just like the video I attached.

Now to install a brake controller all you would need is the harness part # 3070-P for installing a Tekonsha brake controller. If the plug under your dash only has 2 wires you can still use this port but you will need to determine the function of these two pins so that you can run the rest of the wires. Most likely the two wires on the connector are for the stoplight circuit and the power wire for the controller. You will need to verify the function of both circuits with a circuit tester like part # 3808. Once you know what you are working with you will know what else needs to be hardwired.

The blue wire of the controller would get run to the 7-way as it is brake output.
The red wire of the controller is the stoplight switch circuit and gets run to a circuit that sees 12 volts when the brakes are applied.
The black wire is 12 volt power and would get run to the positive terminal of the battery.
White wire is ground and would get run to negative side of battery.
