Will 14 Inch Rims Fit Lifted Livin Lite Tent Camper Trailer w/ 12 Inch Rims

Question:

Hi, I am putting a OEM lift on a Livin Lite tent camper that currently has 12inch x 5 wheels. I would like to put 14inch rims on it so that I can get off road tires. The lift will add approx 2.5inch and there is 2inch of clearance currently around the 12wheel/tire to the wheel well. Since you guys are the best and friendliest resource on the web I thought I might ask for your expert advice on this. Oh, and do all 5 hole trailer rims have the same bolt spacing? Thank you.

I just want to start off by thanking you for the compliment. We work very hard to provide the best, most reliable information for our customers.

When it comes to a 14 inch rim, the only 5 hole bolt pattern that we offer is the 5 on 4-1/2 inch. I have included a link to these, as well as an article on determining your bolt pattern. You will want to make sure that your bolt pattern is indeed the 5 on 4-1/2.

As for clearance issues, a typical tire for a 12 inch rim measures 20 to 21 inches in diameter where as a tire for a 14 inch rim will measure around 26 inches in diameter but could be larger for off road tires. Even with the lift, the fenders would not allow sufficient clearance with this great of a difference. Depending on the design of your Livin Lite tent camper, you may be able to just replace the fenders on your trailer with larger ones in order for the 14 inch rims to work for you. I have included a link to the fenders for 14 inch wheels as well.
