Trailer Hitches for 2010 Toyota Camry and 2015 Honda Odyssey for a Kuat NV Bike Carrier
Question:
Toyota Camry SE 2010 - Honda Odyssey EXL 2015 - Kaut NV 2inch Hello eTrailer Experts, I have the car and van above and like to share the Kuat NV 2.0 inches bike rack between them. I want to have the option of extending the bike rack to 4 bikes. I will only carry 4 bikes on the Odyssey not the Camry. Therefore, I would need the Kuat NV 2.0 not the 1.25. With the Camry SE, there is only one option which is the 1.25 inches hitch. My question - can I use the 1.25 to 2.0 inches adapter for the Kuat NV 2.0 on my Camry? Thank you.

First, for the 2010 Toyota Camry I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 36416. Like you said this, and all hitches for your Camry, have a 1-1/4 inch receiver. You could use an adapter, # HTAD, but it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent dropping it from 300 pounds to 150 pounds.
The 2-bike version of the Kuat NV, # NV22G, weighs 50 pounds. That means the total weight of the bikes cannot exceed 100 pounds. Also, the use of an adapter puts additional stress on the hitch and where it is attached to the vehicle which is why the capacity is reduced.
The 2-bike add-on for the NV is # NA22G.
If you need a trailer hitch for your 2015 Honda Odyssey the most popular option is # 75270. This is a Class III hitch with 2 inch receiver so no adapter is needed. When the 2-bike add-on is installed the total weight of the carrier will be 84 pounds.
