How To Install Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 56022, on 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe
Question:
do you need to run the black wire to battery , or can you connect to a tail light wire in trunk? using the yellow fuse wire
asked by: robert
Expert Reply:
On your 2009 Nissan Altima Coupe, the black wire has to be run directly to the battery to get power.
If you attached to the taillight you would only get power when the taillight is on. The black wire is run directly to the battery to protect the vehicles wiring from any damage, if another power source is used the electrical system would be placed at risk. The yellow fuse wire would be connected inline to the black wire to protect the electrical system from any overload.
On any vehicle wiring installation you do have to make sure to follow the manufacturers instructions included with the product.
