What is the Difference Between the Trailer Hitches for a 1998 Chevy C/K and 1995 Chevy Suburban

Question:

I bought a used 75033 trailer hitch that fits a 98 chevy half ton pickup and was wondering what the difference is between this one and the 75037 that actually fits my 95 half ton suburban. Will I be able to make it work on my truck? Thanks for your time.

The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 75033, will fit the 1998 Chevy C/K. The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 75037, will fit the 1995 Chevy Suburban. But they are not interchangeable. The hitches are designed to fit the construction and shape of specific vehicles, so these two hitches have unique designs and require specific mounting points on the vehicles they were designed for.

They do share some similarities. Both are Class III hitches with 500 pounds of tongue weight capacity and 5,000 pounds of gross trailer weight capacity. Both hitches have a 2 inch receiver opening. Both can be used with weight distribution systems, but the pickups hitch can handle up to 8,000 pounds with weight distribution. The hitch for the Suburban can handle 7,500 pounds when using weight distribution. I have included installation instructions for both hitches below.
